Personality:
While the war against Tartaros fundamentally changed a lot of who Minerva is, her core personality is relatively the same as before. She is not like the Minerva within Avatar and Alvarez canon. She is still selfish, mean, and arrogant, yet she is more likely to keep herself in check and restrained. She has grown to care for Sabertooth, as well as the other people from other guilds who helped put her down this path, but she is not a completely different person. She'll help those in the light, but from her vantage point in the shadows.

The traits that corrupted her and pushed her down her former path, namely the superiority complex and scorn of weakness from her father, are traits she has grown to despise. Seeing them in others tends to get a rather displeased (at best) and violent (at worst) reaction from her. She dislikes the reminder of what made her father and herself so awful for years.

She has considerably relaxed since returning to Sabertooth. Her playfulness and teasing no longer (always) is done out of a meanspirited place, and she tends to be more easy-going and leisurely around the guild and others. She lives life for the sake of her own enjoyment now, instead of an endless drive to be the best to fuel her ego and superiority needs.

Due to the nature of the past I've created for Minerva, some of it could include content you may not feel comfortable reading. For everyone's best reading and convenience, I have split up her character synopsis into different eras to make avoiding certain topics easier. I'll give a slight overview of what you may find in each section below, just in case there is anything you need to avoid.

Not included here is canon events. Check out the wiki if you need a refresher.

Coming soon! It's not done yet.

The Yakuma Clan was once a tribe of great warriors, known famously throughout Ishgar for their strength and valiance in war. However, the Clan was brought to the very brink of extinction after declaring war on Acnologia, with Acnologia wiping out most of the Clan. Only a few survivors escaped the great extinction of the Yakuma race over 400 years ago, and the Yakuma creed faded away from history.

Some small pockets of Yakuma survivors lasted over the centuries, though their numbers dwindled greatly. One man, Jiemma Orland, sought to revitalize his race with a new era of great warriors. He searched all of Ishgar for other pureblood Yakuma women in order to produce powerful children. However, his efforts to produce a child with potential failed. Each offspring did not meet Jiemma's standards, and he would often kill the mother and the child when he realized they had nothing to offer his race.

It was only when he met Kore and she gave birth to a daughter, did Jiemma finally find a child worthy of becoming a Yakuma warrior. However, the gender of the child was crushing. Jiemma wanted a son, a true paragon of valiance, not a daughter. Jiemma resolved to beat the femininity out of this child, shaping her into the most ruthless of fighters that he could manage. From a young age, Minerva was subjected to the worst of Jiemma's rule, forced to become the warrior he wanted her to be.

Kore tried to be a loving mother to Minerva despite everything, teaching her how to read, to cook, and to find things in life to enjoy. Being with her mother was a breath of fresh air compared to the cruelty she endured with Jiemma, so Minerva often tried to spend as much time with her mother as possible. However, Jiemma noticed how Minerva began to slack in her training, and found Minerva spending more and more time with Kore instead of practicing her magic. Jiemma thought that the things Kore was teaching Minerva were too feminine, too weak, so he killed Kore so that she would no longer instill weakness into his daughter.

Minerva had to watch Jiemma take the life of her mother, all when she was only twelve years old. She never saw her father the same way ever again, never once tried to tell herself that he was only this hard on her because he loved her ever again. Her hatred for Jiemma was born on this day, and Minerva began to push herself away from the path of light her mother tried so hard to keep her on with everything she taught Minerva.

Once Kore died, Jiemma's trainings became more and more brutal, especially now that he began to rise to prominence inside the Sabertooth guild. Not happy with the weakness and femininity his daughter displayed, Jiemma continued to beat and assault her to force Minerva to abandon those weak ways. He would abandon her within the woods and force her to fight and claw her way back home. It took years of this treatment for Minerva to finally break and show Jiemma the results he wanted. One night, when Jiemma left her out cold and alone in the woods, Minerva got attacked by vicious monsters, and fearing for her life, she gave in and slaughtered all the beasts that tried to kill her. The magic signal she gave off during the slaughter alerted Jiemma, and Jiemma followed that magic to the woods, finding Minerva surrounded with the severed bodies of all of those beasts. This was Minerva's first "success" as Jiemma's child, and Jiemma allowed Minerva to become a part of his next plan.

Jiemma usurped control of the Sabertooth guild and became the Guild Master, and he resolved to turn Sabertooth into a guild of great fame and respect. However, the original Sabertooth was a small, unsuccessful guild, so there was a lot of work to be done to build a reputation for the guild. Sabertooth did not draw in many jobs for his mages to complete and gain recognition, so Jiemma had to resort to other measures. Taking a few of his trusted members, Jiemma created a dark guild, Severed Fang, that operated within Sabertooth's shadow to fund Sabertooth's expansion as a guild. Once Minerva proved herself that one fateful night in the woods, Jiemma invited Minerva into that guild, and she became one of the leading members. Her specialty while as a mage of Severed Fang was assassinations, though she was forced by her father to undertake various jobs from his vast criminal network.

Severed Fang's success paid off, and soon Sabertooth began to grow as well. More and more members started to join, including two mages who would later become the Twin Dragons, Sting and Rogue. Minerva befriended the two of them when they joined, all of them still children at the time, and she was the one who went behind Jiemma's back to induct Lector and Frosch as official members of the guild, even if Jiemma didn't vet and approve them first. At this phase of her life, part of Minerva still tried to cling to what her mother taught her, and still allowed herself niceties such as kindness and friendship. She tried to play a big sister/mentor role to Sting and Rogue, and often tried to protect them from Jiemma's wrath.

But even so, Jiemma was still as cruel and heartless as ever. When Minerva was barely an adult, Jiemma started adding new "tasks" to her role as a member of Severed Fang. Given that Sabertooth was expanding so rapidly, Jiemma needed a larger guild hall, one befitting a guild as glorious as they were. He needed investors to fund the construction of a new guild hall, and he used his daughter as a bargaining chip to try to win the favor of investors. Minerva's "company" was promised to investors, and she was supposed to persuade them, typically through means most reprehensible, to invest in Sabertooth's expansion as a guild. Minerva went along with this, still under Jiemma's thumb, and she went along with it for far too long. Her obedience to Jiemma started to break after Jiemma forced her to such lengths just to fund a new guild hall.

Minerva's breaking point came after she took the fall for one of Sting and Rogue's failures on a mission when she was eighteen. Minerva was reprimanded in front of the entire guild by Jiemma and humilated, though for the first time, instead of taking his words with tears in her eyes, Minerva only felt anger. That night, when Minerva and Jiemma went home, she finally confronted him for everything he did to her and made her do. This culminated in a large fight, one that nearly cost Minerva her right eye, but one that nearly cost Jiemma his life.

The next day, Minerva and Jiemma entered the Sabertooth guild hall. Minerva wore a medical patch over her eye, but Jiemma was covered in bandages from their fight. At that point, everyone knew, even Jiemma, that Minerva had surpassed him in strength, and that he had no hope in controlling her any longer. She never returned to live with Jiemma after that, spending the next few years within the Sabertooth dormitories alone until she bought her own house.

Her personality permanently changed after that day, turning Minerva into the heartless, cruel, and arrogant lady that earned her great infamy across Fiore, and that she would remain that way until X791, with the fall of Tartaros.

Following her capture and torture at the hands of Tartaros, Minerva was permanently left a demon. She was taken to Porlyusica following the fall of Tartaros, and they both worked to find a way to return Minerva to normal. That process was easier said than done, and they struggled to find a way to reverse the demonification process. Porlyusica concocted a plan that could theoretically return Minerva to normal, yet still allow for the opportunity for Minerva to use that demon form in the future. Using a separation enchantment, Minerva the human was separated from Neo Minerva, resulting in two separate people. Porlyusica taught Minerva Take Over Magic, something which she had grown familiar with from overseeing the Strauss siblings' magic over the years. Minerva thus harvested the soul of her demon form, absorbing her severed half back into her body that she can harness through Take Over Magic.

Territory Magic
Also known as "Absolute Dominion Magic." This magic allows Minerva to exert complete control over an area's space, able to alter and exploit any of its properties to suit her desires. She can bend the rules of space as she sees fit, and very few things are impossible with this magic. Territory Magic is closely tied with the Yakuma race. It is believed that the Yakuma War Gods are the ones who bestow this magic onto certain members of the Yakuma Clan who display qualities of a champion. The magic's legend with the Yakuma War Gods is why it is without peer and has so few limitations; it is truly a godlike magic. It is said that the ability to control space is one that the Yakuma War Gods themselves hold claim to. One must be born with this magic and chosen to wield it.

Some key abilities of this magic include:
Draining the magic reserves of others to restore the user's ownManipulating the properties of space to suit the user's needs (temperature, texture, chemical composition, etc.)Nullifying certain magics (especially Spatial Magic)
Eighteen Yakuma War Gods Magic
Summoning magic. Minerva can summon any of the 18 Yakuma War Gods to aid her in battle. Some appear to cast offensive spells, some provide defense or support, whereas others appear to fight alongside the user. This magic has a stipulation in place to forbid those outside of the Yakuma Clan from abusing the Gods' immense power. Those who do not possess the blood of the Yakuma people can only summon these Gods at a high cost, and for a fraction of their power. This is why the God that Avatar summoned was so easily defeated: because it required Alok to sacrifice his face to forge the contract, and then was only fighting with a fraction of its true power. Because Minerva has Yakuma blood, she can forge contracts at a lesser cost and benefit from the Gods' full power when summoning them. Her blood also allows her to summon multiple Gods at once, allowing her to blend magics of the different Gods and their particular affinities.

Yagdo Rigora: The Light of the War Gods. God of Light. Summons a large pillar of light that explodes and decimates a wide area. Will occasionally fight alongside Minerva in addition to casting that light spell, depending on Minerva's needs. Often, she works in tandem with his Light Magic with her Darkness Magic of her Neo Soul form. Her favored God and her longest contract.

Sumeo-Okami: The Empress of the War Gods. Goddess of the Sun. Sets the ground ablaze, with petals of fire spewing from the flaming ground that can scorch whoever dares touch it. Will occasionally fight alongside Minerva in addition to casting that fire spell, depending on Minerva's needs. Wields a fan which she uses to bolster her flames.

Haraedo-no-Okami: The Imperator of the War Gods. Goddess of the Sea. Summons a huge tidal wave of white waters that can crush and pummel anything caught within its reach. Will occassionally fight alongside Minerva in addition to casting that water spell, depending on Minerva's needs. Wields a trident. Is the sister of Sumeo-Okami, both formerly mortals who ascended to godhood after their deaths in battle. Will often be summoned alongside her sister.

Panta Rhei: The Priestess of the War Gods. Goddess of Wind. Daughter of the King of the War Gods. Shows complete mastery over the air, able to manipulate the winds into whatever she so desires.

Ikusa-Tsunagi: The King of the War Gods. A God of Calamity. Does not cast a spell upon being summoned, rather just fights as Minerva bids him so. Wields a large sword that can split the very earth and slice through winds. Minerva took the mission to eradicate Avatar specifically to forge a contract with this God after she discovered Avatar was using her race's magic.

(Former) Magatsu-Izanagi: The Fallen of the War Gods. A God of Desolation. A wielder of darkness and curses. Unlike the other Gods, this one only forged a contract with one Yakuma warrior for a lifetime. Previously, the former wielder of his power was Minerva's father, Jiemma. Following Magatsu-Izanagi's defeat and Jiemma's death, Minerva used her victory over him to force him to forge a contract with her. Magatsu-Izanagi inhabited Jiemma's corpse and turned him into his new vessel, and upon forging a contract with Minerva, he sought to turn her into his newest vessel. He declared war on the rest of the War Gods, and Minerva resolved to defeat him and take his place among the War Gods.

Take Over Magic: Neo Soul
Transformation Magic. Some side effects from reabsorbing her demon half show in her appearance, such as greener eyes and permanent fangs, but otherwise she was returned to how she looked before the demonification process.

Neo Soul: Minerva's unique Take Over Soul only encompasses her former demon self. Neo Soul allows Minerva to return to her Neo Minerva form, which provides her with a great deal of enhanced abilities. Her physical prowess is exponentially increased in her demon form; otherwise, Minerva is a mostly hands-off fighter, choosing to fight with her Territory Magic or by summoning Gods to do her work for her. She's a rather slippery foe as normal, but Neo Minerva bolsters greater strength and stamina. She hits harder, moves faster, and can tank stronger hits. Neo Minerva, as a side effect from the demonification process and the Demon Particles being injected into her, has an affinity for Darkness Magic. She prefers that magic to her Territory Magic while as Neo Minerva.

Darkness Magic
Elemental magic. She almost exclusively uses this magic in her Take Over form, since it is stronger from the Demon Particles in her body, yet she can use this in her base form as well to lesser effects. Additionally, while in her War Goddess form, Minerva has a great affinity for this magic too, as the new deity reigning over darkness. This magic grants her great mastery over the darkness and the shadows, and is fueled and strengthened by her own moral alignment. Most of her spells have been learned/adapted from Rogue's own Shadow Dragon Slayer techniques. She can use this magic to restore Rogue's strength or in tandem with Yagdo Rigora's Light Magic to mimic the Twin Dragons' blend of white and shadows.

Disclaimers:

I know I don't RP Minerva like she was written during the Avatar and Alvarez arcs. But I wrote her with this characterization before she got bastardized into a domestic, food-loving housewife in canon. I was here first and I'm not changing. Besides. I'm more fun this way.
